Rolled up tighter than a bb,
Is being nudged
Across the deck by the dog
With an enormous nose

I can almost hear
From over here
The sowbug clenching
Its scream inside itself tight
As a musical note
Praying nothing
Hears it, trying to be
Quite inanimate
